Alfred Wainwright OBE (1907-1991) was a British walker, author and illustrator who, in his Pictorial Guide to Lakeland Fells, documented 214 peaks in The Lake District National Park, England.
Wainwright's series of seven illustrated books are used today by many hill-goer as the definitive guide to the Lakeland Fells (hills) and many 'peak-baggers' like to use this list as a basis to document their own progress and experiences in The Lake District.

City Mountaineering offers you the chance to reach the summit of any/all of the 214 Wainwrights throughout the year.
We offer weekend and midweek trips across the entire Lake District National Park, with every trip offering a different collection of Wainwrights.
Whether you have a particular summit in mind, or want us to pick the best collection for you, we can help! From the highest and most popular summits such as Scafell Pike and Helvellyn, to the lesser known peaks of Binsey and Lank Rigg, we hike them all throughout the year!

With such a variety of options, every trip is different and the chosen routes will depend on the group and the weather.
You don't need to have any prior experience of hiking and the small group size will enable us to give you our full attention throughout the trip, ensuring your safety and enjoyment is our number one priority.
Cost of our trips to The Lake District include:

- Use of all camping kit, if applicable (e.g. Tent, sleeping bag, roll mat, water filtration, stove for wild camping trips)
- Use of technical kit, if applicable (e.g. Snow shoes, crampons, helmet, ice axe for winter trips)
