LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NITTY GRITTY BITS
Anyone booking a City Mountaineering trip must ensure they have read, understood and agreed to the following Participation Statement prior to booking. In making a booking with City Mountaineering, attendees attest both their understanding, and agreement with, the following:
Participation Statement

'The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) recognises that climbing, hill walking, and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.'

City Mountaineering believes that when activities become predictable and absolutely safe (if that is even possible), they cease to be exciting and adventurous. Adventures will always have a potentially uncertain outcome and will always carry risks. Part of our aim is to help educate our clients to the risks involved and make them aware of the processes we use to manage and mitigate risk. However, it is also important to understand that we cannot remove all risk to clients, our instructors, or to people around us.

We ask all clients to carefully consider whether the activities specified suit their individual needs, expectations, and capabilities. It is also essential that participants' actions conform to any given safety guidance and that any distress caused during, or resulting from, the activity is drawn to the attention of the activity leader as soon as is practicable.

We ask that clients acknowledge that going into mountain areas is potentially hazardous and, when adventurous activities are added, the hazards are increased. This implies a potential risk of injury or, in extreme circumstances, loss of life. Anyone joining a City Mountaineering trip must consider this very seriously and take responsibility for their participation and both acknowledge and accept these risks.

City Mountaineering's agents and employees hold Public Liability Insurance and recommended that our clients take out personal travel, accident and cancellation insurance suitable for the activity for the duration of the trip.
