Hike and wild camp on a full traverse of the Lake District National Park

This week-long adventure - will involve hiking mostly on track, through valleys and over the mountains of The Lake District.  Mostly wild camping under the stars and away from the crowds, but campsites/bunkhouses may be used if the weather doesnt lend itself to a comfortable camp in the wild on any night.

The 100km route will see you hike the entire length of The Lake District National Park!

The specific traverse route we take will depend on the weather conditions and the group (If you've been on this trip before, we'll take a completely different route and direction across the National Park :)

Lead by a highly qualified and experienced Mountain Leader, you will be completely self-sufficient throughout the journey

This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and all on the shores of our little island. This is a great introduction to multi-day hiking and wild camping!

Tents, sleeping bags & mats and cooking equipment will be provided - but you are welcome to bring your own if you have them.

This trip is suitable for everyone and no prior experience of multi-day hiking is necessary.

The small group size (max.8) will enable us to enjoy the tranquility of the area whilst enabling a flexible itinerary to explore the hidden gems that The Lake District has to offer.

Saturday (from 10am) - Meet outside Euston Railway Station and take a relaxing train journey to The Lake District. You will be met at the train station and transported to your hostel/campsite accommodation for the night for a full trip briefing, kit check and readying yourself for the days ahead.

Sunday - You will be transported to the Eastern boundary of The Lake District, where the first hike begins - a 10km hike to a remote corner of the Eastern Fells.  This area is one of the least trodden of the entire National Park adn we'd be surprised if you saw anyone other than the group on this day.

This is your first wild camp night, so you will be shown how to pitch the tents before having dinner in the remote wilderness before heading to bed in the million star hotel.

Monday - After breakfast, you will help pack away the camping kit and make your way west to the mountain plateau of High Street.

There will be an option of camping on a summit or next to a river/lake (location will depend on the weather)

You will pitch the tents before dinner and a mug of wine as you (hopefully) watch the sun set over the horizon.

Tuesday - Packing the camping kit away, you will descend to Ullswater before catching the ferry on a relaxing jounrey down the length of the lake.  Yoiu will then continue on your journey through the Patterdale Valley and up through a mountain pass to a lake.

Another remote spot awaits for your wild camp under the stars...

Wednesday - Today will see you hike through a pass and down towards Grassmere.  You will continue your jounrey away from the day trippers, back up to the middle fells.  Continuing on towards the Langdale Pikes as you approach Scafell Pike, you will camp up high for wodnerful views of sunset and, if you dare to get up early enough, sunrise!

Thursday - After an early breakfast you will pack the tents away for the final time and continue on your journey west and under the shadow of the highest peaks in The Lake District. Heading over the high pass of Esk Hause and the narrow "Windy Gap" between Great Gable and Green Gable you will traverse above the valley to reach the wonderful ridgeline above Ennerdale (one of the most remote valleys in The Lake District and the site of one of the oldest rewilding projects in The UK).You will follow the plateua past Pillar and on towards the western end of The Lake District National Park

Friday - Descending into the Ennerdale valley you will notice a significiant change in landscape as the valley fills with trees. You will reach an easy track before ending the day at the far western side of The Lake District.

This final day will be a relaxed hike along the southern shores of Ennerdale Water to the village of Ennerdale Bridge on the Western boundary of The Lake District National Park.

After a celebratory pint in the local pub (often voted the best pub in Cumbria) you will be met by the support vehicle and transported to your final night accommodation (hostel/bunkhouse/cottage) for a well needed shower!

Saturday - The mornig is free for you to explore the local area before you are transported to the train station in the early afternoon for a return back home
