A perfect way to begin your Munro journey and experience the magic of Scotland’s wild landscapes!

Itinerary

  • Meet outside Euston train station and board the Caledonian Sleeper Train for a relaxing overnight train to The Cairngorms National Park (bed in a twin-share, single-sex room)

  • Meet your guide in Edinburgh at 7:30am and enjoy the scenic 1.5hr drive north, passing through Perthshire’s lush countryside.
  • You will arrive at Ben Chonzie, a perfect first Munro with a gentle ascent through moorland, where you might spot mountain hares darting among the heather.
  • Reach the summit for a rewdarding lunch amongst panoramic views over Loch Turret and the surrounding hills, before descending to the minibus and a drive deeper into the Highlands, soaking in the rugged scenery.
  • Check into a Highland hotel, unwind, and enjoy a well-earned dinner with your new hiking friends.

  • After a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the day ahead, you will take a short drive to Ben Lawers, one of Scotland’s most iconic peaks.
  • The hike begins through a nature reserve, home to rare alpine plants and soaring golden eagles. The climb rewards you with breathtaking views of Loch Tay and the surrounding peaks.
  • Enjoy a summit moment before descending back to the minibus and a relaxing drive back to Edinburgh, perhaps stopping for a coffee in Killin by the stunning Falls of Dochart (expect to arrive in Edinburgh at around 7pm)
  • Optional: Board The Caledonian Sleeper train at 11pm for a relaxing journey to London/Birmingham/Crewe. The train is scheduled to arrive at London Euston around 8am on Monday.

Note:  The weather and ground conditions will not be known until closer to the date and full winter conditions, whilst expected at this time of year, cannot be guaranteed.  The trip will go ahead regardless of conditions (The only exception being if the prevailing weather is too dangerous e.g. Thunderstorms)
