On this guided scrambling trip you’ll spend two days and two nights in the ancient scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. Scrambling* bridges the gap between hiking and climbing; when terrain is too steep to walk on but not steep enough to require the use of ropes and climbing gear. It is one of most enjoyable ways to scale a mountain and there’s no doubt you’ll come away feeling like a true mountaineer!

The first day scrambling will be your chance to climb Tryfan (the only mountain in England and Wales that requires the use of your hands to reach its summit).

The next day, we’ll journey off track through the lesser known (and far less travelled) parts of the Snowdonia wilderness and scramble our way to the summit of another local mountain.

No prior hiking or scrambling experience is required for this trip. You’ll be part of a small group and guided throughout by an experienced and qualified Mountain Leader who sees your safety and enjoyment as their number one priority.

* Scrambling (noun) /ˈskramblɪŋ/: ‘A walk up steep terrain involving the use of one’s hands’

Fantastic weekend scrambling in Snowdonia with our wonderful guide, Katie. Everything was really well organised, so we had loads of time to enjoy the beautiful scrambling routes, including some wild swimming and posing on the famous cannon rock (see photo). Highly recommended!

This is the best way to easily and confidently enjoy the outdoor activities I love (but don’t have the gear and would never do on my own!), and all at really good value prices. I have been challenged and truly blown away by the trips I’ve been on, and I’ll definitely be going to more!

Another wonderful weekend with City Mountaineering. City Mountaineering trips are always with a small group and this allows you to really get to know your hiking/scrambling companions well but also means the group can agree easily any ‘extras’ wanted from the advertised trip. Stuart knows Snowdonia (and just about every other good walking/scrambling/climbing spot in Britain) incredibly well and can facilitate whatever people want. Thanks again! PS: since been on other trips with Stuart, and the experience is always the same: wonderful in every way.
