Guiding UK Hiking Trips

From £45 per person

Weekends & Multi-day options

All logistics covered, no prior experience needed

Small groups, many solo hikers

Hiking is our bread and butter. If you want to really experience the mountains, you’ve got to hike. Before you get to the ropes and ice axes and crampons, you hike. Mountaineering starts with hiking. And the best thing about hiking is that anyone can do it. It’s just walking!

We have group hiking trips to cater for all tastes and most take place over a weekend, so you won’t need to use up any of your annual leave.

All of our trips include transport from London and are led by qualified guides whose years of experience mean that they’re able to take you off the tourist trails and show you the parts of the mountains most people don’t get to see.

If there’s any mountain or hike that you’d like to do that doesn’t feature on our trip list below, or if you’d like to organise a private trip for you and your friends, please get in touch and we’d be happy to arrange a bespoke trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hiking trips follow mountain and hill trails; scrambling adds hands-on, steeper and more technical terrain; expeditions are longer, multi-day, linear hiking adventures (where you finish at a location different from where you started).

Each trip has a difficulty rating based on feedback from over 1,000 returning clients and include factors such as fitness (duration, elevation, pace, pack weight), terrain (path quality, scrambling, weather and wild camping), and mental challenge (exposure, remoteness and commitment).

All our trips advertised on the website are suitable for solo travellers – in fact, 94% of participants in our trips join as a solo traveller, but leave with new friends. However, you are very welcome to get a group of friends together and we can arrange a private trip just for you.

We keep groups small, typically with a maximum of eight participants plus your guide. This allows us to give you the best experience possible and keep the atmosphere intimate, informal, and friendly.

It depends on the trip. Each itinerary explains the required fitness and experience. There are options ranging from new hikers to very experienced hikers. You are in the best position to understand your own fitness level and whether any trip is suitable for you.
