A midweek adventure away from the city to the beautiful mountain area of Glencoe.

We will spend the weekend in cosy accommodation in the heart of the Glencoe valley itself and explore the local mountains in their cosy (or cold) winter jackets…

This trip will include an ascent of local Munros (mountains) – the specific mountains and route will depend on the conditions at the time.

This trip is suitable for anyone, regardless of winter hiking experience – If required, a full day of winter skills tuition will be provided as we journey through the winter wonderland!

Itinerary

  • Meet at Euston train station and make our way to Scotland in the comfort of the train before being transferred to your accommodation for the night.

  • Arising early, we will depart for the mountains Glen Coe.
  • We will head out in the snow for an introduction to the winter environment, an introduction/revision of ice axe/cramponing skills and the style of mountaineering required for a winter ascent – this will usually take place en route to the mountain summit.

  • After an early breakfast, to make the most of the day, we will make our way to the summit of a local Munro (mountain)
  • Return to Glasgow train station for a relaxing journey back to London.

2-nights accommodation
2-days instruction and guidance by a highly experienced and qualified mountain leader
Use of safety equipment if required (ice axe, crampons and helmet)
Breakfasts and Lunches

Note: The weather and ground conditions will not be known until closer to the date and full winter conditions, whilst expected at this time of year, cannot be guaranteed.  The trip will go ahead regardless of conditions (The only exception being if the prevailing weather is too dangerous e.g. Thunderstorms)
