Incredible weekend booked with City Mountaineering. Very well organised, very professional, excellent equipment, and I felt safe throughout the whole weekend. Met some great people, stayed in an amazing hostel, and saw the most beautiful scenery. Would 100% recommend and will be joining more trips in the future. Thanks Stu and Nathan!

Went on the Winter Ascent Ben Nevis trip and it was truly an incredible experience and Stuart was a brilliant guide. He helped me feel at ease when my nerves got the better of me at some points and I left feeling accomplished and words cannot describe the elation enough! Lots of learning, laughter and winter hiking. Couldn’t have asked for more! Lovely team atmosphere. Cannot wait to book my next trip to improve my skills more and see more of the beauty the mountains of the UK have to offer!

City Mountaineering provided an awesome weekend. Stuart and the team went above and beyond to make an unforgettable weekend of amazing hiking. Everything was incredibly well organised from food to travel, even working around train strikes. They provided an incredibly easy way to spend the weekend hiking in the unparalleled Scottish scenery directly from London, something I didn’t think was possible before. Very much looking to enjoy more trips with City Mountaineering. I couldn’t recommend them enough if you’re looking for a great trip with extremely knowledgeable guides.

Had an epic weekend with Stuart climbing Stob Dubh and Ben Nevis. Invaluable skills, experience and memories acquired and will definitely be adventuring with Stuart again! The whole trip from leaving London, overnight accommodations, breakfast/lunch and priceless insights and guidance was well planned and action packed.

Stuart took our group on a spectacular winter ascent of Ben Nevis despite unfavourable weather. Major disruption to included transport, the Caledonian Sleeper, was managed by Stuart so that we barely minded. A training day including a smaller Munro made sure everybody was comfortable for Sunday. Stuart took us up a snow gully to keep us out of the weather, but I think most of us would agree it was also one of the most fun parts of the weekend. Ben, the dog, was brilliant company all the way! Thank you for an introduction to winter mountaineering I’ll remember.

To echo what many have said.. Fantastic experience, very well organised to give you the best experience come rain or sun. I’m so grateful for our guide Katie, and the group i was with, for helping me push my limits. Invaluable skills, knowledge and memories were created. Katie gave us the optimum experience on and off mountain, so high praises all around for City Mountaneering Stuart and his team. Looking forward to doing another trip with these guys in the near future.

I have recently been on two City Mountaineering trips, both of which were wonderful! Winter Ben Nevis (Jan 24): An incredible and superbly well organised weekend which felt like being transported to a different world! I hadn’t hiked in winter conditions before but Stuart gave us lots of tuition to stay safe on the mountain and learn new skills. It was awesome to reach the summit with a great team spirit after hiking through the snow in crampons!

Just back from a fantastic winter skills and Ben Nevis summit trip with city mountaineering with our group of 8 friends. Brilliant organisation from Stu, excellent winter guiding from Katie – stunning views, a wintry summit in crampons, a gorgeous night in the massively undersold “bunkhouse” at the foot of the mountain (delicious food, cosy atmosphere, comfy beds, stunning views and walk in shower!). All logisitcs taken care of by stuart and the sleeper there and back just part of the fantastic adventure. Would highly recommend!!! Thanks so much

I jumped on the last place for one of the weekend Ben Nevis trips – I’d been wanting to do this in winter for ages. The small group size was perfect and the other participants were lovely. I generally plan my own trips, and it was nice to not have to think of anything (as everything had already been thought of!) I would definitely go on a City Mountaineering trip again in the future.
