14-16 January 2021

Ease back in to hiking after the Christmas over-indulgence with a 2-day introduction to winter hiking in The Lake District.

Spedn 2-days and 2-nights in cosy accommodation in The Lake District National Park. Perfect for anyone wanting a fun weekend spent in good company exploring the forests, valleys and peaks of this unique and beautiful landscape, whilst also learning the skills required to hike in the winter mountains.

As with all City Mountaineering trips, we’ll get you off the busy tourist trails and head instead to the quieter parts of the National Park, drawing on our local knowledge and years of experience to provide a truly unique adventure you’ll never forget.

Relaxation is the name of the game on this trip and, whilst we’ll still be hiking up to summits, the aim of this trip is to enjoy, not endure! And, of course, we’ll make sure there’s a pub at the end of the hike too!

This is an ideal trip for a hiker who wants their first taste of the winter hills or for the seasoned mountaineer just wanting to enjoy being in the moment in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

As always, we’ll sort out the travel, accommodation and most of the food (the pubs can do the rest!) so just meet in London and leave the rest to us.

From London to the Lake District and back in 2-days!

  • Friday (from 6pm) - Meet at Euston train staiton and take a relaxing train journey north to The Lake District where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your accommodation for the weekend.

You will be given a full trip briefing before heading to bed.

In the evening, your guide will talk you through trip/route planning and the resources used to best keep you safe in the mountains

Sunday - A second day hiking in the winter wonderland, reaching a local summit, before returning back to the train station for your jounrey back to London (expect to be back at Euston at 9pm)
