19-21 April 2021
2-days of easy hiking in The Lake District National Park. Perfect for anyone wanting a relaxing weekend spent in good company exploring the forests, valleys and peaks of this unique and beautiful landscape.
As with all City Mountaineering trips, we’ll get you off the busy tourist trails and head instead to the quieter parts of the National Park, drawing on our local knowledge and years of experience to provide a truly unique adventure you’ll never forget.
Relaxation is the name of the game on this trip and, whilst we’ll still be hiking up to summits, the aim of this trip is to enjoy, not endure! And, of course, we’ll make sure there’s a pub at the end of the hike too! (if they're open!)
This is an ideal trip for a beginner hiker who wants their first taste of the hills or for the seasoned mountaineer just wanting to enjoy being in the moment in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.
As always, we’ll sort out the travel, accommodation and most of the food (the pubs can do the rest!) so just meet in London and leave the rest to us.
From London to the Lake District and back in a weekend!
Monday (from 6pm) - Meet outside Euston train station at 6pm on Monday, you will board the train for a relaxing journey to The Lake District. You will be met at the train station and transported the short distance to our Base Camp – nestled amongst towering mountains and set next to a beautiful lake, this trip is set to be a wonderful detox in nature after so long cooped up inside during lockdown.
Tuesday - After a lazy morning eating breakfast in the early sunshine we will pack our day bags and take a leisurely stroll direct from the campsite to one of the surrounding mountains. We will stop at a secret cave for lunch high on the hill before continuing on our circular hike over the hill and back to the campsite.Dinner will either be outside the pub (if amazing weather), or a barbecue under the large shelter.
Wednesday - After another lazy morning, we will head out on a circular hike on the other side of the valley offering spectacular views across much of the Eastern fells (Lake District mountains) and lakes. We will return to the campsite, pack away our kit and you will be transferred to the railway station for your train back to London. Glowing and rejuvenated after a relaxing weekend spent in nature (expect to arrive back to London at c.9pm)
