Kit Lists​

Hiking

Hiking or Scrambling Weekend Kit List
These are 2/3-day weekend trips that involves hiking/scrambling each day and staying in accommodation each night.

Note:  The list below details what is required for each day on the mountain

 

Required:

Small rucksack suitable for day hikes

Hiking boots

Thick socks

Hiking trousers (ideally waterproof)

Non-cotton T-shirt

Fleece

Warm jacket

Waterproof jacket

Headtorch (and batteries)

Warm hat

Gloves

Sun glasses

Water bottle

Personal medication

 

Optional:

Thermal trousers (long johns)

Hiking poles

Waterproof/Dry Bags

Maps

Compass

Personal first aid kit (blister plasters, sun screen, plasters/bandages, pain killers)

Snack food

Wild Camping Weekend Kit List
These are 2/3-day weekend trips that involves carrying a larger pack and camping in the wilderness each night.

Note:  The list below details what is required for each day on the mountain

 

Required:

Large rucksack (minimum 65 litres)

Sleeping Bag

Sleeping Mat


Camping cup (for tea/coffee)

Camping bowl (for breakfast/dinner)

Cutlery

Hiking boots

Thick socks

Hiking trousers (ideally waterproof)

Non-cotton T-shirt

Fleece

Warm jacket

Waterproof jacket

Headtorch (and batteries)

Warm hat

Thick Gloves

Sun glasses

Water bottle

Personal medication

 

Optional:

Winter Hiking

Winter Hiking Weekend Kit List
These are 2/3-day weekend trips in winter that involves hiking each day and staying in accommodation each night.

Note:  The list below details what is required for each day on the mountain

 

Required:

Small rucksack suitable for day hikes (30-35 litres) 

Sturdy Hiking boots

Thick socks

Hiking trousers

Waterproof trousers

Non-cotton T-shirt (ideally at least 2, with one being long-sleeved)

Fleece

Warm/insulated jacket

Waterproof jacket

Headtorch (and batteries)

Warm hat/balaclava

2 pairs of Warm Ski Type Gloves/Mittens

Sun glasses

Ski goggles

Water bottle

Personal medication

Technical equipment (ice axe, crampons, helmet) - These will be provided free of charge if you don’t have them

 

Optional:

Thermal trousers (long johns)

Hiking Poles

Thermos flask

Rock Climbing Weekend Kit List

These are 2/3-day weekend trips that involves rock climbing each day and staying in accommodation each night.

 

Required:

Small rucksack for lunch and personal belongings

Old trainers (or climbing shoes, if you have them)

Clothing that you don’t mind getting scruffy on the rocks (and extra layers for the time when chilling out between climbs)

Warm jacket

Gloves

Warm hat

Waterproof jacket

Sun glasses

Sun hat

Sun cream

Water bottle

Personal medication

Wash kit and towel

Personal snacks

UK Expedition Series Kit List

These are typically week-long adventures that involves carrying a larger pack and camping in the wilderness for multiple nights throughout the trip. In some cases, accommodation will also be used.
